Yak 52 aircraft are produced by Aerostar SA in Romania. Over 1800 52's have been produced to date starting with
production in 1978. There are approximately 50 Yaks in Australia comprising the Standard Yak 52, 50 ,54, 55, 55M, 18T,
11, 3, 9 the new 52W and two 52TW's. The Yak 52 is a very sturdy and dependable aircraft. As a basic trainer it is a very
responsive and forgiving aircraft. It is fully aerobatic with most airframes being +7 / -5 g but some +5 / -3 g aircraft are still available.
The Yak 52 has been the primary Soviet military and aerobatic trainer since 1979. It is still used in most the former Soviet States with air clubs and with the government. They are currently in service with
the Vietnamese Hungarian and Romanian Airforces as a basic trainer and have now spread world-wide, being used as aerobatic trainers and private enjoyment machines in the United States, Europe, England ,Australia
