Jim, callsign ‘Wicko’, loves aeroplanes, and in particular Yaks. If you look at the photos on this page you will see his beautiful Yak 9, powered by the famous Allison V-12 engine. The Yak 9 is one of the most elegant warbirds on the Australian Warbirds scene, and is a popular attraction at airshows outside it’s Tyabb base. Wicko also owns a Yak 52 and a Yak 52TW. In particular the Yak 52TW is highly regarded for it’s snow leopard paint scheme, and is his usual mount when he flies with the Roolettes.

Jim also builds his own aircraft, including two scaled replica Mustangs and a Spitfire, as well as a huge array of large scale radio controlled aircraft. With so many toys, the biggest problem Jim has is choosing which one to fly!
